The Louisiana ACT Program , a program of Resources for Human Development (RHD) , provides community-based behavioral health services to individuals living with serious mental illness, substance use challenges, and co-occurring disorders.

Our multidisciplinary team uses a person-centered, recovery-oriented approach to support individuals in achieving their goals, strengthening coping skills, and building meaningful lives within their communities.

As a Counselor, you'll play a key role in helping participants address mental health and addiction challenges while supporting long-term recovery and personal growth.

Behavioral Health and Addiction Treatment Experience

Help individuals achieve recovery goals

Provide addiction and mental health treatment services

Support participants in building healthier lives

As a Counselor , you will provide clinical support to program participants in the areas of addiction and mental health through therapeutic counseling services, insight-oriented interventions, and recovery-focused treatment planning.

Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities

Enter documentation into the electronic medical record according to agency guidelines.

Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training opportunities.

Passionate about behavioral health and substance use treatment

✔ Dedicated to helping others achieve lasting recovery

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field

Minimum of one year of specialized substance use training or supervised experience

Working knowledge of computer software and electronic health record systems

Experience in community-based behavioral health services

Experience facilitating therapy groups

Experience supporting individuals with substance use and mental health challenges

Full-Time

• $Community-based and office-based service delivery.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, and travel throughout the community as needed.
