PHARMACY - PHARMACIST I

Position Overview This position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy, promotes patient care and education. The pharmacist must be patient‑directed, clinically oriented, and have a vision to take Meijer Pharmacy to the next level of patient care.

Responsibilities Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.

Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.

Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner and have a vision to expand and grow the pharmacy business.

Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.

Motivate team members to perform at their highest level.

Be competent and knowledgeable of Meijer policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws.

Demonstrate effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.

Maintain excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.

Listen to patients and resolve their needs, providing customer service.

In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, be responsible for pharmacy operations.

Perform and oversee, where allowed, clinical services including immunizations.

Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.

Registered and licensed in the state of practice.

Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana) for retail/community practice.

Working knowledge of a pharmacy system, policies and procedures, and understanding of regulation in the operating state.
