Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition SummaryConducts day-to-day activities pertaining to picking material for the shipping department. Picks material accurately and in an efficient manner. All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.Essential ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the Responsibilities of “Picker”:Utilize Pick Ticket information to effectively locate, verify, and record information to meet customer requirements.Ability to use a barcode scanner and other forms of technologyEnsure designated equipment is in proper working condition (forklifts, pickers, crane, hand tools, etc.)Effectively communicate with department supervisors.Attend daily departmental meetings and safety meetings to identify departmental issues and discuss ways to correct themIdentifies areas of improvement while maintaining a clean and safe work environmentDuties are not limited to those described above, and may be expanded as neededInformation and Activities Critical to Process QualityMaterial Verification and Documentation:Visual inspectionHeat number(s) of each line item written on the Pick ticket as well as entered in to 4U using the provided barcode scannerMarking on the material matches what is written on the Pick Ticket as well as entered in to 4U using the provided barcode scannerPick Ticket is properly filled out (pulled by, quantities, heat numbers, etc.)Identify non-conformances and notify department leads and shipping supervisor.Segregate and identify non-conforming product to prevent shipment prior to material disposition.Department Responsibilities·QMS:Fully understands and maintains all expectations listed in the procedures and Work Instructions.Follow Quality Policy and Department Processes.Understands the process of identifying and segregating non-conforming product from good material.Safety:Utilize all required PPE.Follow all company policies regarding CDC recommendations for COVID19.Maintain the daily checklist on the picker/forkliftAttend daily safety meetingsOngoing responsibility to maintain a clear and safe work environment.Maintain clear aisle ways and organize racks and dock spaceAlways aware of potential hazards in surrounding areaQualificationsSpeak and read English. Bilingual Spanish preferred1+ years of warehouse experienceAbility to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tablesHigh school diploma or GEDBasic computer skills. Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.Must be able to effectively use a barcode scanner to pick and pack ordersAbility to drive a forklift and secure certificationMust have average reading, writing, and mathematical skillsCapable of lifting 50 lbs with back supportAble to stand and operate a variety of equipment as assignedTakes initiative and can work independentlyRequires a high level of attention to detailAble to handle multiple tasks and prioritiesPerforms other general warehouse duties as needed \nCompany DescriptionWe offer an excellent compensation and benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), disability, and paid time off.
