Machinist

This role involves setting up and operating a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools to exact specifications and tolerances. The machinist fabricates new machine parts, reads and interprets technical documentation, and ensures all finished components meet strict quality and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.

Set up and operate manual and CNC milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders to fabricate new machine parts to required dimensions and tolerances.

Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job based on part design and machining conditions.

Perform machine setups, including changeovers, to efficiently run different parts and jobs.

Measure and inspect finished parts using appropriate measuring tools to verify they meet precise dimensions and quality standards.

Adjust machine settings such as speed, feed, and depth of cut to optimize part quality and production efficiency.

Participate in rebuilding and building functions of equipment as needed to support maintenance and production goals.

Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the manufacturing environment.

Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.

Work overtime when required based on business needs.

At least 3 years of machinist experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.

Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machines.

Ability to select and use appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials.

Competence in measuring and inspecting parts to tight tolerances using standard inspection tools.

Troubleshooting skills for resolving machining and basic equipment issues.

Willingness and ability to work overtime as required.

Experience with both manual and CNC machining operations.

Experience in machine operating within a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Interest in obtaining additional certifications related to machining or manufacturing.

The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. with overtime as business needs require. Uniforms are provided, and laptops and radios are supplied for applicable roles to support communication and technical work on the shop floor.

This is a Permanent position based out of Ocala, FL.
