Job Description
Job Description The Service Writer supports Galey’s Marine Service customers with boat repair estimates, factory maintenance recommendations, scheduling, and service coordination. Reporting to the Service Manager, this role communicates with customers and team members, coordinates customer drop-off and pickup, and supports routine maintenance, warranty repairs, and seasonal service campaigns.

Responsibilities
Prepare estimated costs for boat repairs and recommend factory maintenance.
Communicate with customers and team members in a professional manner.
Resolve scheduling issues and coordinate customer drop-off and pickup.
Schedule service appointments and provide phone support.
Support routine maintenance, warranty repairs, and seasonal service campaigns.
Maintain detailed, accurate records for service work and internal billing.
Ensure work orders and parts invoices are cashiered accurately and promptly.
Collaborate with the Sales Department to direct customers to Service and Parts.
Identify service upselling opportunities and recommend appropriate work.

Preferred Qualifications
Entry-level experience in marine service advising.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of customer service experience preferred.
One year of boat, automotive, motorcycle, ATV, or RV service experience preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, or CDK Lightspeed helpful; training is available for the right individual.
Outgoing, friendly personality and professional manner.
Punctual, team-oriented approach with a willingness to go the extra mile.
