We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support our client, the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, you will help modernize VA’s eligibility and enrollment systems, supporting millions of Veterans, their families, and caregivers. js, Java 17+, and Spring Boot, we’d love to hear from you.

\Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications

Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues

Support enhancements and sustainment activities for applications utilizing Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies

Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations

Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and application deployments

Developing and maintaining backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5–8 years of software development experience in professional environment

Strong hands on experience with Java development

Hand on experience developing REST APIs and web services

Experience working with Oracle or other relational databases

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
