This person must also provide innovative ways that align with our mission to be the best, most respected hotel company in America.Complete all required trainingAdhere to all standard operating procedures and property specific brand standardsProvide personalized, friendly service to each and every guestKnowledge of fundamental principles and procedures of food preparation, short orders, and banquet food serviceImplement the highest possible hygiene policies and examine daily the work areas and equipment cleanlinessFollow established recipes to ensure the quality of everything being served to our guestsOptimize your productivity by executing the established daily food prep planObtain feedback on food and service quality, and effectively resolve customer problems and complaintsPractice safe and sanitary work habitsEnsure compliance to all federal, state, brand regulations/requirementsThis position works in a high-heat environment and with chemicals on a regular basisRemember, that nothing is more important than safety and security, so you will do checks and work with the property engineering team and your local vendors to ensure all items are in proper working order and excellent conditionPerform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guestsNecessary Skills:Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, associate issues, etc.Must be responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow associates, and hotel assetsHave knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation proceduresAble to report to scheduled shiftsAble to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in personAble to work a flexible schedule. The Cook 1 is responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fry stations or other areas of the kitchen.Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.Previous prep or line cook experience required.Sets up station according to restaurant guidelinesPrepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.Cleans and maintains station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills.Has understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station.Assists with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.To comply with company and departmental safety rules and regulations, including the property handling of all relevant equipment and machinery.Additional Needs:Food handlers permit required.Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.Previous prep or line cook experience required.Work Environment / Physical Demands:The majority of time will be spent in kitchen.
