Must-Have:

• Minimum 3 years of labor and delivery experience
• 400 births per year experience
• Ability to titrate drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia
• Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios

Description:
This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a labor and delivery setting.
Clinicians will care for patients with obstetrics, postpartum, antepartum, and post-surgical gynecological needs.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3 for general patients and 1:1 for laboring patients.
Nurses are not required to float between units unless in critical staffing situations.
Charge nurses are present on each shift and do take an assignment.
All RNs are expected to troubleshoot respiratory equipment when necessary.
The unit prides itself on high patient experience scores and is breastfeeding friendly.
Nurses are required to maintain professionalism, including adherence to fingernail policies.
A pass/fail exam will be conducted during the first week of employment.
Only candidates who do not have any work commitments with facilities associated with this healthcare system will be considered.
Requests for time off must be provided upfront, and additional requests may not be approved.
The hospital may cancel shifts, and nurses should be prepared to work weekends and holidays if needed.
