Under general direction of a lead worker or supervision by departmental administrator or Building Services Manager, performs duties to provide care, cleaning & maintenance of building, furniture & fixtures.

Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes, polishes and renews floor surfaces;
cleans, dusts and waxes furniture and fixtures following either Level 1 or Level 2 clean/sanitize/disinfect guidelines as directed***;
Removes snow and ice from walkways and entrance areas;
Reports need for equipment repair;
Reports evidence of fire, illegal entry and theft of property;
stocks supply areas;
Applies to Facilities Management and Safety Staff.
Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in sanitation and safety areas of dining, residential, academic and administrative units;
Willingness to foster a welcoming and respectful workforce and community
Ability to read and write common vocabulary in sentence structure;
Ability to demonstrate dexterity and skill in use of craft-associated hand and/or power tools and equipment;
Ability to mix cleaning compounds and follow safety procedures;
An established pattern of good work habits and performance with good interpersonal skills.
Training & Experience:
May be exposed to dirt, grease, odors, cramped conditions, extreme hot or cold temperatures, heights, and electrical hazards;
During Level 2 working conditions will be required to wear designated PPE up to and including full body suit, appropriate mask, etc. *

Skill in operation of cleaning equipment** (electric scrubbers, buffers & vacuum cleaners)
