POSITION OVERVIEW The Project Manager – EPC is responsible for managing the successful execution of large-scale Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), EPCM, Design-Build, and Construction Management projects or major project scopes from engineering and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and final turnover.
The Project Manager will lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, safety, quality, subcontractors, vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure assigned project scopes are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical and contractual requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the execution of EPC, EPCM, Design-Build, and Construction Management projects or major project scopes from engineering and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, quality, safety, commissioning, vendors, and subcontractors.
Manage assigned project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risk, and overall execution while ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and project objectives.
Serve as a primary coordination point between engineering/design teams and construction teams to ensure technical deliverables support procurement and field execution.
Lead project execution within either the MEP or CSA discipline, depending on project assignment and technical background.
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering deliverables, design packages, construction work packages, procurement activities, and project milestones.
Lead design coordination and constructability reviews to identify technical conflicts, field challenges, schedule risks, and opportunities to improve project execution.
Manage project schedules and milestones in coordination with project controls, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Monitor project costs, forecasts, commitments, change orders, cash flow, and financial performance for assigned project scopes.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation, recovery, and corrective-action plans to protect cost, schedule, quality, and client objectives.
Manage scope changes and support the evaluation, documentation, negotiation, and execution of change orders.
Coordinate procurement strategy, bid packages, technical evaluations, vendor activities, subcontractor scopes, equipment delivery, and material requirements.
Oversee and support the management of RFIs, submittals, technical queries, design changes, engineering documentation, and field coordination issues.
Work closely with construction leadership to resolve engineering and design issues that arise during field execution.
Manage relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project stakeholders.
Lead project meetings, communicate project status, track action items, and provide regular updates regarding schedule, cost, risk, engineering progress, procurement, and construction performance.
Support commissioning planning, startup, punch-list completion, system turnover, project closeout, and final client handover.
Ensure project activities comply with company governance, contractual obligations, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety expectations.
Mentor and provide direction to Project Engineers and other members of the project team as appropriate.
Promote collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence throughout project execution.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field preferred.
Approximately 8–12+ years of experience in engineering, construction, project management, or EPC project execution within technically complex capital project environments.
Demonstrated experience managing projects, major work packages, or significant scopes within EPC, EPCM, Design-Build, or Construction Management environments.
Strong understanding of the complete EPC lifecycle, including engineering/design, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and turnover.
Experience managing projects or major scopes on either the MEP or CSA side.
Experience may include mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical distribution, process piping, plumbing, utilities, controls, instrumentation, fire protection, equipment installation, and commissioning.
Experience may include civil/site development, foundations, concrete, structural steel, structural systems, architectural packages, building envelope, roofing, interior buildout, and related construction scopes.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing the interface between engineering/design and construction execution.
Experience with design reviews, constructability, RFIs, submittals, work packages, technical documentation, and field issue resolution.
Experience managing project schedules, budgets, forecasts, risks, change orders, procurement activities, vendors, and subcontractors.
Advanced Technology Facility experience is highly preferred, including semiconductor fabs, data centers, pharmaceutical/biotechnology facilities, battery manufacturing, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing, or mission-critical facilities.
Candidates with significant experience delivering complex Oil & Gas, petrochemical, power, industrial, or other large-scale EPC projects may also be considered.
Experience working within large multidisciplinary or matrix organizations utilizing established project governance and controls processes preferred.
PMP certification is a plus.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple technical and commercial priorities while leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced project environment.
