Statistician (part-time)

This position is part of the Energy Information Administration, Department of Energy. As a Mathematical Statistician, you will apply mathematical statistical theories, techniques and methods to the full range of statistical studies, projects and programs, and participates in studies important to agency decision makers.

The Energy Information Administration office works to collect, analyze, and disseminate independent and impartial energy information to promote sound policymaking, efficient markets, and public understanding of energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment. EIA conducts a comprehensive data collection program that covers the full spectrum of energy sources, end uses, and energy flows. EIA also prepares informative energy analyses, monthly short-term forecasts of energy market trends, and long-term U.S. and international energy outlooks.

Develop and document advanced statistical forecasting tools to project energy market dynamics, including pricing, supply, and distribution patterns.
Provide senior officials with recommendations for analyzing and interpreting complex or incomplete data.
Coordinate nationwide statistical studies, manage vendor performance, and brief stakeholders on project progress and outcomes.

Degree: that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics.
Combination of education and experience at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
Evaluating data resulting from the application of mathematical statistical tools, models, methods and techniques.
# Managing the execution of a variety of projects that require mathematical statistical technical knowledge.
