Certified Medical Assistant Department: Provider

Assists with patient phone calls, prescription refills, referrals, and prior authorizations.

May be required to collect blood samples, tissue or other laboratory specimens and prepare them for testing.

Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.

Assists with business operations, clerical, medical records management, reception, and patient scheduling as needed.

Job Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Graduated from a Medical Assistant program, accredited by the Commission on accreditation of Allied Health Education Program preferred.

Test and pass the National Certification exam (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMT, NAHP) to be certified as Medical Assistant required.

Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions, policies, guidelines and standards.

Intermediate Proficiency level with Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.

Physical, Mental, Environmental and Working Conditions Works in outpatient clinic and acute health care setting with adult, pediatric, adolescents and geriatric patients with developmental delays, behavioral issues, and/or health related medical problems.
