Senior Merchant - E-Commerce

Overview: The Senior Merchandiser is responsible for the product direction and performance of the soft wovens category (Dresses, Tops & Skirts) and reports to the Senior Director of RTW Merchandising. This individual will drive the vision and execution of merchandising and buying strategies for their categories, working cross-functionally with Design, Production, Sales, Planning and Marketing to ensure an elevated, trend-forward and cohesive product offering that aligns with the brand’s seasonal and long-term objectives. This role is based in our NY office.
Responsibilities:

Create seasonal line plans for soft wovens ensuring alignment with brand vision, business goals and customer needs
Analyze weekly, monthly and seasonal sales data to assess category performance & identify key opportunities
Deliver hindsight reporting and translate findings into forward looking merchandising strategies
Provide competitive analysis: price points, silhouettes, fabric, category, etc.
Identify new trends and provide seasonal merch guidance
Provide/develop PK knowledge for store and E-commerce teams
Act as liaison between Design, Sales, Production, Planning & Marketing
Oversee the buying process for DTC (retail & ecom) channels and support in season performance to achieve sales and margin targets
Manage Assistant Merchant, providing direction, coaching and clear development goals to support their success & growth
Build effective relationships with colleagues and cross-functional partners
Requirements:

• 7+ years of merchandising experience, with a strong background in soft wovens preferred
• Knowledge of marketplace and has a history of RTW Sales
• Well versed in all aspects of the fashion industry from fabrics, fit and construction
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a passion for product and brand storytelling
• Strong analytical skills and reporting abilities to identify opportunities and wins
• Passionate and excited to be on the front lines of a growing team
• Self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team player and able to work independently as well as collaboratively cross-functionally

The base salary range for this role is between $110,000 and $115,000. The relevant base salary will vary depending on wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, degrees, and certifications. The base salary is just one component of our total compensation offerings, which consist of a comprehensive benefits package as well as a short-term incentive program, clothing allowance, and merchandise discounts
