University Counselor (Temporary)

The clinical counselor will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional and psychological well‑being of ASU students within a Step Care Model serving both on‑campus and online students residing in the state of Colorado.
Assist with the daily operations of the ASU Counseling Center
Conduct initial mental health assessments to determine the appropriate level of care
Provide culturally responsive mental health services
Offer short‑term individual counseling and crisis intervention
Offer group therapy sessions and support groups for specific concern populations
Design and deliver educational programs and workshops on mental health topics
Collaborate with other campus departments to promote mental health awareness, wellness, and prevention efforts
MA/MS required in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Licensure‑eligible and hold a temporary licensure permit (LPCC or equivalent)
Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegially with employees, students, and the community
Licensure in the State of Colorado LPC or LCSW
Experience in planning and implementing prevention and awareness activities on a college campus
Experience supervising clinicians‑in‑training and other staff
The salary range for this position is $47,400 - $66,400 (pro‑rated for 0.83 FTE: $39,342-$55,112 on a 10‑month contract).
