About the Role
Senior Systems Engineer in the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) organization at our Tucson, AZ campus. The position is 100‑percent on‑site with occasional travel. The candidate must possess a current Secret security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

Core Systems Engineering: Update, maintain, and improve requirements; develop system architecture and modeling using Model Based Systems Engineering; conduct trade studies based on Concept of Operations; collaborate with engineers across all disciplines.

Perform test planning: develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in simulated and real‑world environments, and perform or execute testing.

Integrate Systems: collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluate functionality and impact, and assess test results for requirements compliance.

Create/modify documentation to support design reviews and prepare for test events.

Perform platform integration, flight test, qualification, design verification execution.

Troubleshoot and analyze: identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.

Perform data analysis: conduct statistical and numerical analysis of test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.

Support missions: travel as needed to support mission execution at local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typical degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Experience with systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.

Qualifications We Prefer

A self‑starter who can take on tasks with limited guidance and potentially lead a team of engineers.

Experience in the defense industry, specifically with military systems and procedures.

Understanding of the Systems Engineering product cycle.

Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field supporting integration and/or verification.

Experience generating technical documentation such as trade studies, test plans, test procedures, or technical reports.

Experience developing and managing system requirements.

Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and associated tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, and Cameo.

Experience with data analysis and presenting analytical and technical material.

Experience interfacing with internal and external customers.

Salary Range

86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
