Senior Automation Engineer
seeks a Senior Automation Engineer at its South San Francisco, California location.
Duties: Act as Technical System Owner (TSO) for a wide range of automation platforms, control systems and system applications such as BAS, PLC, SCADA, data historian and other GMP & non-GMP automation assets. Identify and address customer needs and provide essential system support in a 24x7 environment. Identify and resolve hardware and software application issues. Analyze performance data and alarms, work with end users to resolve issues in a timely manner. Support development of project scope, execution strategy and cost/benefit analysis for all site capital projects. Develop business cases to upgrade and retrofit existing control systems and technologies. Present business cases to internal and external stakeholders, project delivery teams, and senior leadership. Oversee the development and execution of system commissioning and qualification. Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field and 4 years of experience as an Automation Engineer or closely related position.
Designing and developing programable control system hardware and software for semi- and fully- automated manufacturing equipment; Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) control system design, programming, testing, and validation; Allen-Bradley, Schneider, and Siemens APACS platforms; Supporting qualification and validation of cGMP equipment, systems, and cleaning and manufacturing processes for life sciences industry; Developing electrical engineering designs, including panel and control system cabinet layout.
May telecommute up to 2 days per week.
