Radiation Therapist
Radiation Therapists assist in localizing tumors. They participate in treatment planning and deliver high doses of ionizing radiation prescribed by radiation oncologists. Radiation therapists serve as the primary liaison between patients and members of the radiation oncology team. They provide a link to other healthcare providers, such as social workers and dietitians.
Experience: One to three years of clinical experience in all modalities as a radiation therapist through an accredited radiation program
Current state certification for Medical Clienttion Technologist
Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Clienttion Therapy
Graduate of an approved radiation therapy technology program
Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with Oncology patients for up to eighty percent of work time
Computer skills for treatment machines
