It is conceivable that a Chess Registered Nurse may start their shift in one unit and then based on a change in census and acuity be transferred or moved to a different unit to meet operational requirements. While working within a nursing unit the Chess Registered Nurse acts as a patient advocate and facilitates communication between the patient, family, and other healthcare professionals. This results in a holistic approach to planning, organizing, teaching and relationship development that best meets the needs of the patient.Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing plan considering the patient and family's individual, cultural, ethnic, and religious values and beliefsProvide patient education for diagnostic procedures, medical conditions and treatment plansProvide nursing care utilizing defined competencies and skills to areas assigned.Demonstrates an aptitude and willingness to learn new responsibilitiesExcellent organization, interpersonal, and customer service skillsAbility to work independently, make decisions, meet deadlines, multi-task and solve problemsWill be designated to train and work in various areas of facility providing safe & therapeutic patient careRequires excellent communication skills, pleasant demeanor and positive attitudeAble to work well with others in a teamwork environment.Associates of Applied Science in NursingCurrent NYS RN licenseBLS for all units and some may require ACLS and/or PALSPreferred Skills and Experience:Previous critical care experiencePhysical Requirements:use of the computer keyboard) light lifting in regards to patient care.
