Physical Therapist - First Shift

The department has excellent staff longevity, with many therapists choosing to build long-term careers at Sanford. Therapists work closely together within interdisciplinary care teams while building meaningful relationships with patients throughout their rehabilitation journey and seeing their progress from admission to discharge. Sanford also offers opportunities to cross-train between Inpatient Rehabilitation and Acute Care, pursue leadership opportunities such as Team Lead, and participate in departmental committees that support professional growth and continuous improvement.
Plans, organizes and delivers physical therapy programs that help clients/patients/residents recover and improve their mobility, relieve pain, increase strength and prevent deformities. Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions clients/patients/residents who are affected by injury or disease.
Utilize therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance activities, wheelchair mobility, stair training, and adaptive equipment to maximize patient outcomes.
Follow patients throughout their rehabilitation stay, progressing treatment plans as patients achieve functional milestones.
Collaborate closely with rehabilitation physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nursing, case management, and other members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist. Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
