The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for a Custodian. This is a permanent full-time state position located in Springfield, Oregon.
This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees' (AFSCME) union.

What You Will Be Doing The primary purpose of this position is to sanitize and clean all buildings and facilities, picking up trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, or using industrial cleaning equipment to clean floors, cleaning and stocking bathrooms, making sure buildings are secure, cleaning windows, and minor building maintenance and repairs in support of OMD Facilities.
Working Conditions Regularly exposed to hazardous materials i.e. chemicals for cleaning which include detergents, disinfectants and possible unsanitary working conditions. Required to work from stepladders, portable and mobile man lifts. Follows all safety standards, policies and procedures. Must have knowledge to know when, where and how to properly wear and maintain personal protective equipment and comply with all safety practices and requirements at all times. Structure work and other activities in the unit to promote a diverse workforce and ensure discrimination, harassment and hostility free workplace.
This position works Monday - Friday 2pm - 1030pm.
AND 1 year of custodial/janitorial experience that includes proper use of tools, machinery and chemicals used for the job.

This position travels within the assigned regional area.
Basic computer skills that include but are not limited to retrieving and sending emails, completing digital forms to order supplies, time entry, and regular online trainings.
Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPM's, Policies, and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy 50-000-01.
