Job Summary

Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in Oncology and Urology in Iowa City, Iowa. This role involves providing specialized nursing care on a medical-surgical oncology unit, primarily during night shifts. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details

Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Chemotherapy Certification, at least 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience, Iowa licensure or eligible, experience with Epic or Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level 1 experience, teaching hospital experience, experience with Meditech EMR system

Float: Float: Float rotation may be required

Additional Information: The unit is a Medical-Surgical Oncology Unit with 44 beds, caring for medical patients requiring acute oncology care, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, complex care, and post-op care for various complex oncology surgeries. The environment is fast-paced, with specialty training in chemotherapy administration and oncology care. Candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic setting that pushes nursing skills to the next level.
