Coverage Needed: 4-12 Shifts Per Month
Day Shift: 6:30 AM-2:30 PM
Swing Shift: 1:30 PM-10:30 PM
Night Shift: 9:30 PM-6:30 AM
Provider Availability Must Be Included at Time of Name Clear

Annual ED Volume: Approximately 22,000 Visits
Discharge Rate: Approximately 77%
Admission Rate: Approximately 14%
Observation Rate: Approximately 2.8%
Transfer Rate: Approximately 2.5%
Left Before Treatment Complete: Approximately 4%
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide Routine Emergency Medicine Care
Evaluate and Treat Emergency Department Patients
Respond to Codes
Manage Acute Medical Emergencies
Coordinate Admissions and Transfers as Needed
Limited Trauma Responsibilities
Complete Documentation in Epic
Use Dragon for Dictation
Support Staff
Approximately 12-20 Hours of APP Coverage
Established Transfer Center Process
Requirements
Board Certified OR Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine - Required
Completion of an ACGME/AOA-Approved Emergency Medicine Residency - Required
Active Iowa License OR IMLC - Required
Iowa DEA - Required
ACLS - Required
BLS - Required
PALS - Required
ATLS - Required
At Least 2 Years of Clinical Experience in Emergency Medicine - Required
Must Have Actively Practiced as an Emergency Medicine Physician Within the Last 12 Months OR Completed an Emergency Medicine Residency Within the Last 6 Months
Clean Malpractice History - Highly Preferred
No Failed Background Check or License Suspension Issues
Credentialing
Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 Days
Completed Application Must Be Returned Within 48 Hours of Receipt
Case Logs Must Be Submitted Promptly
Credentialing Deadlines Must Be Met
