Restaurant Bartender

Salary Range $26.00 - $30.00 Hourly Position Type Full-Time Non-Exempt

We are looking for a professional, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. You will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.

Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the bar; promote house drinks and utilize up-selling skills to maximize revenues.

Prepare beverages requested by customers. Coordinate food service with restaurant(s) for bar/lounge guests if applicable.

Monitor guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers.

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.

Assist guests regarding all beverage menu items in an informative and helpful way.

Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions.

Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.

Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.

Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.

Assist with beverage inventory when needed.

Set up bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies. Perform pre- and post-shift side-work (empty/fill ice-bins, prepare garnishments, replenish/store snacks, etc.). Must meet state legal age requirements.

All candidates must be fluent in verbal and written English

Excellent knowledge of all beverage products

Most tasks are performed as part of a team with a moderate amount of supervision.

Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.

Walking occurs continuously in and between kitchen and banquet or meeting room areas.

Talking and hearing occurs continuously in the process of communicating with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.

Some work tasks require employees to come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
