Registered Nurse (RN), Full-Time/Temporary, Days Shift

Overview Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the 3 West Ortho/Trauma Team. First day shift (36 hours per week). Sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 for qualified candidates, $7,500 for new graduates.
Job Location and Shift Virginia Beach, VA - 36‑hour day shift, full time.
Responsibilities Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation).
Deliver patient‑centered care in an ortho/trauma and medical/surgical environment, including admissions from ortho joint, spine, fracture, and trauma centers.
Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team (orthopedic navigator, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, nurse educator, charge nurse, unit manager).
Participate in unit‑based partnership council and hospital‑wide nurse led councils.
Teach patients and families health promotion, self‑management, and discharge planning.
Use evidence‑based practice and nursing research to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications ADN required; BSN or higher preferred.
Valid Virginia or compact RN license in good standing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Experience as RN in orthopaedic/trauma or medical/surgical settings; new graduates welcome.
Strong critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
