Buyer - Full time - Supply Chain Purchasing

BUILD Renewables is a nationwide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company with a dedicated focus on utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems. The company was formed due to the increasing demand for renewables with the objective of assembling high-performing project teams. Position Overview: On-Site position located in Mendota Heights, MN.

The Procurement Specialist will support the daily execution of material procurement and supply chain activities for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. This role focuses on providing administrative support, processing and tracking material orders, maintaining data accuracy in procurement tools, coordinating with suppliers, and assisting the Procurement Manager in ensuring project teams have the materials needed to meet construction schedules. This position will collaborate closely with the design, estimating, and project teams.

Track material delivery dates against the construction schedule; proactively identify and flag potential delays to the Procurement Manager and project team.

Procurement Support: Stakeholder Coordination: Participate in weekly procurement meetings with internal teams and suppliers; Vendor Relations: Act as a day-to-day point of contact for suppliers regarding material orders and issues requiring resolution.

Contract Administration: Assist in drafting, assembling, and organizing material purchase agreements and change orders for management review.

Data Integrity: Maintain accurate pricing data and lead time information in procurement tools/software to support preconstruction efforts.

Cross-reference material quotes and purchase orders against project drawings and specifications to ensure order accuracy.

Budget Tracking: Monitor material spend against specific cost codes and assist in preparing monthly variance reports.

Site Support: Support the onsite team with ongoing material needs and supplier issues, including quality issues and ensuring delivery of material on a timely basis.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 0-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or construction coordination.
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn project management software.
  • Ability to identify potential delays or issues in the supply chain and escalate them to management promptly.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Approximately 10-15% travel to national project sites as needed.

Construction site environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
