Lead Housekeeper- Evening Shift

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for the overall safety, cleanliness and maintenance of YMCA facilities. Keeps, the facility free of hazards and performs maintenance and cleaning duties as assigned.

Responsible for the direct cleaning of the YMCA, such as cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, locker rooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, trash removal, window cleaning, picking up trash/spills, etc., floor cleaning and maintenance, in all areas of the Y.Performs housekeeping duties: provides hands on experience to maintain clean facilitiesHelps to develop and follow cleaning checklist for all areas of the building on a daily basis.Responsible for communicating and submitting to supervisor inventory, supplies needed to maintain the buildingOrder & Coordinate Supplies: paper products, cleaning supplies, etc. per established scheduleOrganize, clean and maintain storage area for the cleaning supplies and equipmentMaintain a clean and positive image along with YMCA attire/uniformMaintain communication with all staff via in person and / or through work orders that are developedCan create, follow and finish work orders in a timely mannerInteract with staff and members in a positive manner and create a team atmosphereDevelop an understanding and commitment to the Annual CampaignWorks closely with Property Director and / or appropriate staff to help process new hire paperwork.Provides Leadership and Training to other housekeeping staff; coordinates work and scheduling of community service and volunteers working in housekeepingProvide consistent feedback to housekeeping staff related to areas of improvement and facility related issues impacting membership satisfaction. Ability to cover shifts and work evenings and weekends.changing light bulbs, unclogging sinks/toilets/drains, painting and light plumbing.
