Location: Salt Lake City, UT Salary: $55.00 USD Hourly - $60.00 USD Hourly Description: Platform Engineer (DevOps) Location: Salt Lake City, UT Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6+ Months, Likely Full-Time) Work Model: Onsite Interview Process: Virtual Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. 3+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Cloud Engineer, or similar role. Hands-on experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or comparable tools. Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and Helm. Experience developing automation solutions using Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bash, Groovy, or similar languages. Experience designing and supporting cloud-native environments on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) or AWS. Knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments. Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions. Preferred Qualifications Experience with enterprise-scale cloud migration and modernization initiatives. Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, policy-as-code, secrets management, and security automation. Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB. Google Cloud, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Terraform, AWS, or similar industry certifications. Passion for platform engineering, automation, and continuous improvement. About the Job As a Platform Engineer (DevOps), you will help build and evolve modern engineering platforms that enable development teams to deliver software faster, more securely, and with greater reliability. You will work closely with software engineers, cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to design scalable cloud-native solutions, automate operational processes, and improve platform capabilities across the software delivery lifecycle. In this role, you will leverage technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Docker, Helm, Splunk, and AppDynamics to create enterprise-grade platform solutions that support innovation, operational excellence, and digital transformation initiatives. Responsibilities Design, build, and optimize enterprise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and modern DevOps technologies. Build and support cloud-native microservices, APIs, and platform automation services. Deploy, configure, and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and Helm. Design reusable platform services, tooling, and automation frameworks that improve developer productivity. Implement DevSecOps practices by integrating security, compliance, governance, and quality controls into engineering workflows. Build and maintain observability solutions using Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch, and related platforms. Design and support scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (preferred) or AWS. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, deployment, networking, and platform issues while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to deliver secure and reliable enterprise solutions. Create and maintain platform documentation, deployment standards, engineering playbooks, and operational procedures.
