Seasonal - Parks Maintenance Worker SIMD (PT Maintenance Support)In this position, you will assist with the maintenance of medians, rights-of-way, and parks for either Briargate, Norwood, or Stetson Hills SIMD.Job Type: SeasonalWork Schedule: Normal hours worked will be Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Schedule may include some weekends and holidays.This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association). Approximate dates of employment will be May through September. Scheduled hours will vary based on department needs. Total hours worked will not exceed 1,500 annually.As a Parks Maintenance Worker - SIMD, you will:Mow, trim, weed, aerate, seed, top dress, edge, and rakeMaintain and repair irrigation systemsPick up trashKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment such as trucks, trailers, riding and push mowers, and tractorsAbility to safely operate hand toolsHave landscape or facility maintenance experiencePossess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restrictions.Experience working with irrigation systemsSpecialized training in landscaping or grounds maintenancePhysical Demands: The ability to stand, sit, stoop, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 60 pounds occasionally is also required.Environmental Conditions: This position requires working outside in all weather conditions and along high traffic areas.
