Role
The RN First Assistant (RNFA) collaborates with surgeons in the operating room to provide direct patient care during surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
Perform intraoperative assistance, including preoperative assessments and communicating patient outcomes.
Contribute to team efficiency by ensuring safety, effectiveness, and quality in patient care.
Monitor patient responses, adjust care plans, administer medications, and manage perioperative interventions.
Participate in professional development, incorporate research into practice, and advocate for patient safety.
Provide patient and family education and exhibit leadership within the perioperative setting.
Qualifications & Skills
RN license with 2-5 years of experience.
Preferred: BSN degree, CNOR, Certified First Assistant certifications.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritize patient safety.
Key Duties
Assist during surgeries, plan and evaluate patient care, ensure adherence to standards, and contribute to continual improvement in perioperative services.
