Senior Manufacturing Engineering

Position Summary Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Fairfield, CA – Onsite. Responsibilities Develop, implement, validate and maintain manufacturing operations, standard work, work instructions and technical documentation to ensure compliant and efficient production.

Lead manufacturing plans, tooling strategies and production methodologies, including fixture/tool design and tool life management.

Design, develop, test and implement assembly fixtures, tooling, and production support equipment.

Conduct variation, capability and manufacturability analyses to ensure processes meet performance and quality requirements.

Carry out process validation activities to confirm product quality and readiness for production.

Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis and non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods – ultrasonic, radiographic/X‑ray, N‑ray – to ensure products meet engineering specifications.

Drive producibility, process capability and product/process improvements using lean manufacturing principles, smart factory initiatives and advanced engineering techniques.

Investigate and resolve technical, operational and quality issues through root‑cause analysis, corrective action implementation and cross‑functional collaboration.

Interface with Production Operators, Design, Quality and other Manufacturing Engineers to solve problems, improve manufacturability and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

Participate in Project Management Team meetings and product reviews to align technical solutions across disciplines and ensure production readiness.

Partner with Production, Quality, Design Engineering, EH&S and Value Streams to ensure safety, quality, compliance, performance and program objectives.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical or similar) and a minimum of 5years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and at least 3years of experience.

Minimum of 3years’ experience in an engineering, manufacturing and/or production environment.

Minimum of 3years’ experience with SolidWorks (3‑D modeling software).

Experience with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) access.

Strong GD&T interpretation and tolerance analysis capability.

Self‑starter mindset with ability to work autonomously and lead complex manufacturing initiatives.

Knowledge of PFMEA, process validation, SPC, RCCA, control plans and configuration control practices.

Familiarity with structured continuous improvement frameworks (e.g., Preferred Qualifications Experience in fast‑paced and/or highly regulated aerospace or space manufacturing environments.

Experience with aerospace quality systems and compliance environments (AS9100, AS9110, AS9120).

Experience supporting machine operations, including fixture and tool design, tool life management, routing/work instructions and basic CNC programming.

Experience with NDT methods (ultrasonic, radiographic/X‑ray, N‑ray) and interpretation of results.

Project management experience, including conceptualizing projects and automating processes; ability to build or repair equipment is a plus.
