CNA - Medical Care

Medical AssistantAssists physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other medical staff by performing administrative and clinical duties, such as preparing patient exam rooms, performing, and recording vitals, and all other medical care allowed within the scope of certification.Essential duties and responsibilities:Prepare and maintain patient exam roomsAssist nurses with patient care and communicationsAssist physicians and nurse practitioner with patient care and communicationsMaintain inventory of medical and lab suppliesManage biohazard wasteInterview patients to obtain and record their medical historyObtain and record vital signsRecord and document patient informationPerform urine drug screen collectionsDraw blood for testing (after appropriate training)Perform lab testing in our office laboratory (if certified by current MT)Instrument sterilizationPerform other duties as assigned or requested within the scope of certificationQualifications:Minimum education: Current certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is required. Two years' experience preferred.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above listed essential duties satisfactorily.
