Speech Language Therapist (SLP)

We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 26-week contract assignment in Hilo, Hawaii.
This position is ideal for a clinician with strong adult rehabilitation experience who is comfortable evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
Candidates should also have at least 2 years of clinical experience , preferably in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation hospital, or similar post-acute setting.
Evaluate patients with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Provide speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy.
- Assess aspiration risk and swallowing safety.
- Work with patients recovering from stroke, neurological conditions, surgery, trauma, or other medical conditions affecting communication and swallowing.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in care planning, discharge planning, and rehabilitation conferences.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in Epic .
- Follow facility policies, infection-control standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Active or eligible Hawaii licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
- Minimum 2 years of Speech-Language Pathology experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
Skilled Nursing Facility experience
- Rehabilitation hospital experience
- Acute-care hospital experience
- Adult inpatient rehabilitation experience
- Neurological rehabilitation experience
- Stroke rehabilitation experience
- Epic documentation experience
- Previous travel or contract therapy experience
Swallowing therapy
- Aspiration-risk assessment

Flexible day schedule
• The ideal candidate is an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with strong dysphagia and MBS skills who can work independently in a hospital or rehabilitation environment.
You should be confident evaluating medically complex patients, making safe swallowing recommendations, communicating with interdisciplinary teams, and providing patient-centered rehabilitation services.
