POOL - Culinary Arts Instructor (Part-time)

The Yuba Community College District is seeking a qualified candidate for a part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) Culinary Arts Instructor. The pool of part‑time faculty is refreshed every two years and remains open continuously.

All applicants must provide fingerprint clearance prior to the first day on the job.
Applicants will remain active in the pool for two years; after that, an email will instruct how to stay in the pool.
Position Information
Job Title: Part‑Time - Culinary Arts Instructor
Location: Lake County Campus - Clear Lake, CA
Job Description
Develop and deliver instructional lectures for culinary arts courses (up to 10 hours/week).
Organize and teach all levels of culinary classes.
Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
Teach during day, evening, and/or weekend schedules, including distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
Assess Student Learning Outcomes each semester.
Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees as desired.
Required Duties
Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree and six years of full‑time occupational experience in a related field, OR
Bachelor’s degree and two years of full‑time occupational experience in a related field.
Possess a California Community Life credential in the subject area.
Hold ServSafe® Food Handler, Manager, and Responsible Alcohol Certification.
Meet all equivalency requirements as determined by the YCC District before the application filing date.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant teaching experience beyond the minimum qualifications.
Previous experience in a community college setting.
Physical Demands
Class I - VII (based on degree and teaching experience). The instructor may need to lift, stand, and move within a kitchen environment.
