Ambulatory Weekend Oncology Nurse

Outpatient Clinic Classic Hematology - (non-malignant)

This clinic is a classical hematology focusing on bleeding disorders, hemophilia, anemias, sickle cell, and DVTs. It does not handle malignant hematology or oncology. RNs are required to bring their own stethoscope. Phlebotomy skills are a must.

Required Skills/Certs/Exp:

Minimum years of experience: 2 years

Minimum experience required; will consider acute oncology/hematology experience

Traveler experience: Clinic will accept first-time travelers

Locals accepted/rate difference: Yes

Skills: Nurses in the clinic room patients, perform phlebotomy, central line care, assist with bone marrow biopsies, vaccinations, EKG, phone triage, facilitate patients to be scheduled appropriately for infusions, patient education/phone calls, and case management.

Certs: BCLS

Skills: Chemotherapy and infusions are not done in this setting. We do not administer chemo or infusions in the clinic.

Prefer oncology clinic experience

Certs: ONS, BMTCN, OCN

Average daily census: 70

Will accept 13 weeks

Shift: 5x8 hours (M - F 8a - 4:30p)

Clinic is closed for the holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day & Martin Luther King Day

Call requirement: NONE

Patient diagnoses: Adult hematology patient population - benign hematology only

Special procedures/unit details: Bone marrow biopsies, manual diffs, triage, phlebotomy, central line access, patient education, patient assessment

Special equipment: RNs are required to bring their own stethoscope
