Supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff members is expected.
The RN utilizes the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care in their practice.
Responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care.
Patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction are central to the RN's role.
The RN applies their educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care.
Mentoring and precepting staff is also part of the RN's responsibilities.

Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted.
Development and Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care.
Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services.
Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts.
Complies with regulatory standards and participates in governance models.
Promotes cost-effective care.
Maintains awareness of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare.
Recognizes data from complex situations to determine care priorities.
Synthesizes assessment data meaningfully before communication.
Planning: Collaborates with patients and families to update care plans.
Utilizes resources in planning comprehensive care.
Addresses cultural and ethnic issues in patient care planning.
