Attorney (Urgent)

Downtown miami law firm seeking an attorney with 5 plus years of federal litigation experience and first chair trial experience to work at the Firm. Candidates living outside miami are encouraged to apply because the Firm may not require an immediate move to miami depending on the candidate.

The Firm prefers (but does not require)that candidates are former assistant federal public defenders, former ausas, or attorneys who had federal judicial clerkships.

Proficiency or fluency in Spanish is also a plus but not required.

The Firm has a dynamic federal litigation practice and tries approximately 2-3 federal cases a year. Client matters range from physicians and lab owners accused of fraud and kickbacks to foreign nationals accused of money laundering to matters with CFTC FTC IRS and various AGs offices to business disputes involving theft fraud and misappropriation of assets. The Firm also has a growing appellate practice having argued 5 appeals before the 5th and 11th circuits over the last few years.

This is a do-it-yourself hands off Firm that will give you the independence to run and manage your own cases. The Firms owner believes that working tirelessly is the only way to get the best results for clients. So the Firm expects long hours but it doesn’t expect attorneys to sacrifice spending quality time with their families. The Firm doesn’t believe in billable hour requirements but expects 50 plus hour weeks especially during trial periods.

Travel is also expected. The Firm has matters from Mexico to Maryland to Miami.

Salary commensurate with experience with potential bonuses, and of course health insurance and Firm 401k plan etc.
