Tennis Shop Attendant
The Tennis Shop Attendant is responsible for providing excellent service to all Tennis members and guests. The Attendant performs intermediate duties relative to the daily operation of the tennis shop that includes but is not limited to operating a point-of-sale system, end-of-day reports, managing court times and related registrations, collecting fees and merchandise sales. The Attendant performs related work as required under the supervision of the Tennis Center Manager. This position requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and, as needed, holidays.
Essential Functions
Meets and greets members and guests in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
Communicates in a clear and professional manner that assists members and guests in playing at the NPBCC tennis center.
Provides excellent customer service.
Opens and closes facility.
Answers incoming phone calls in a polite, timely manner.
Provides tennis center information to the public on phone and in person.
Operates point-of-sale system (POS).
Registers tennis players according to court schedule and collects fees from members and guests.
Coordinates with Tennis Shop Attendants and Tennis Instructors to maintain a consistent level of court availability and to ensure members and guests are following the rules.
Collaborates with Tennis Center Manager and Tennis Instructors any changes to the court reservation sheet or any updates that need to be addressed on the courts.
Work with Tennis Center Manager to ensure shelves and tennis shop maintain professional standards.
Assists and accurately process merchandise sales for members and guests
Executes efficient and accurate money handling.
Reports member and guest complaints promptly to Tennis Center Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED.
Ability to explain tennis products and services and other information about North Palm Beach Country Club to members and guests.
Customer focused interpersonal communications
Cash register operations and point of sale systems (POS) experience
Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette required
Understanding of basic math functions
Ability to work well under pressure, manage time and coordinate multiple tasks
Must work a fluctuating schedule that may occur during the week and/or weekend, including holidays.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort in daily work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, kneeling and walking and may include some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (at least 20 pounds). ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is usually performed in a retail shop setting with infrequent exposure to adverse environmental factors.
