We infuse a commitment to civic engagement, equality, and communal action into each of our programs, which include early childhood education, youth development, healthy aging, mental health and wellness, English classes for adult immigrants, community centers, and the arts.Responsibilities:Implement curriculum to provide positive learning experiences for childrenPlan and conduct daily classroom plans, maintain observation logs & other documentationAttend and participate in staff meetings and Staff Development training/workshopsAssess the developmental needs of the children on a timely basis and plan activities to meet their individual needsWork with Education Director to ensure equipment and supplies are in good conditionParticipate in Parent Orientation and Parent-Teacher ConferencesAssist with implementation of the program evaluation processPlan and use community resources that enrich the educational content of the programPromote sound parent relationshipsWork with children with special needs, attend case conferences and follow-up servicesMaintain good working relationships with supervisors and peersWork with supervisor in completing annual job performance evaluation of self and staffPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or other related field requiredMaster’s Degree in Early Childhood EducationOne year teaching experience working with children (age 2-5)Must have initial ECE certification (birth-2) or valid New York State Permanent Certification or have an approved study plan working toward certificationWork Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm, 35 hours per weekWe are committed to building a diverse and inclusive community.
