G. welding processes; uses oxygen/acetylene torch and cutting/notching equipment such as bank saw, ironworker, shear and reciprocating saw to cut and fit assemblies.
Determines fabrication, repair, or modification requirements and methods to be followed, lying out and planning assigned work.
Troubleshoots and adjusts welding/burning equipment.
Assembles and connects welding apparatus including tanks, regulators, hoses, torches and tips, cables, with feeders and electrode holders.
High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Must be certified in accordance with AWS specifications and Stennis Space Center standards or must pass performance test to determine if can be certified by SSC standards.
Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
Good organizational and planning skills.
Ability to work with computers.
Climb ladders and scaffolding.
