R-114561The **Senior Buyer** negotiates the purchase of complex equipment and strategic services within authorized limits, processes purchase requisitions and purchase orders using system software, looks for optimization, cost reduction, improved lead-times and product quality. The Senior Buyer coaches and mentors any Associate Buyer and Buyer. The Senior Buyer must have advanced knowledge of purchasing contract terms, RFP process, bid analysis and must be able to lead complex customer-focused special projects.**Purchase goods and services by utilizing the Procurement operation processes and technology across Assurant enterprise to meet the needs of the customers.* Develop, implement and follow established Procurement policies, procedures and organization structure.* Manage suppliers, internal costs, quality and delivery performance.* Drive continuous improvement on end-to-end aspects of the procurement process.* Maintain and promote sound relationships with suppliers and the business community.* Maintain positive relationships and communication with internal customers.* Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance* 5 years buying and procurement related experience* Ability to positively adjust to changing daily demands and work volumes required.* Above-average telephone and interpersonal skills required.* Ability to conduct Request for Proposal (RFP) projects.* Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.* Knowledge of purchasing terms, concepts, processes and procedures.**If there is no posting end date listed then this is a pipeline requisition, and we will continue to collect applications on an ongoing basis. **Helping People Thrive in a Connected World** Connect with us.
