Job Summary and Qualifications Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse – The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting in the charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Serves as a role model and clinical resource for the staff. Responds in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physicians, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role Deliver individualized nursing care to adult patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures and to patients having specialized radiology procedures.

Provide care in the prep and recovery of these patients.

Perform specialized cardiac tests on adult and pediatric patients.

Record patients’ medical information and vital signs and other patient care data.

What qualifications you will need Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee.

Additional courses in physiology and hemodynamic monitoring and EKG interpretation.

At least 2 years of experience as a Critical Care staff nurse.

Experience in intensive care nursing (ICU/ER).
