Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the MS/Tele specialty unit. This position involves providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population with various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell disease, and cystic fibrosis.
Manage patient monitoring in a telemetry setting.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
Document patient care and progress accurately in electronic health records (Epic experience required).
Adhere to established policies and procedures, including floating as needed according to the organizational policy.
Shift Details
This is a night position requiring 3 shifts per week, with an option for 36 or 48 hours. Every other weekend is required, and staff must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Note: Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.
Qualifications
Current Virginia nursing license (or pending) required.
BLS certification is mandatory.
Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:4 on days and weekends and 1:5 at night.
