DHA is a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force to Combatant Commands in both peacetime and wartime. The DHA uses the principles of Ready Reliable Care to advance high reliability practices across the Military Health System by improving our system operations, driving innovative solutions, and cultivating a culture of safety.Core Duties:Provide patient consultations requested by DHA Military staff health care providers withinguidelines established by the Military Treatment Facility.Deliver records and reports required to document procedures performed and care provided utilizingthe Health Maintenance Strategies International Manual (HMSI) standards.Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed by governmentsupervisor.Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command/GovernmentSupervisor.Actively participate in the command’s Performance Improvement Program. Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm,informing appropriate persons, and documenting events. Comply with the standards of The Joint Commission, applicable provisions of law, and the rules andregulations of any and all governmental authorities pertaining to licensure and regulation of healthcare personnel and medical treatment facilities, the regulations and standards of medical practice andthe MTF’s medical staff bylaws.Provide training and/or direction as applicable to supporting government employees (e.g., hospitalcorpsmen, students, etc.).Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, and ClinicalInformation System (CIS), participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and RiskManagement (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander.The Psychiatrist shall comply with the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability andAccountability Act) privacy and security policies of the treatment facility. Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and preparesuch records and reports as may be required. Abbreviationsmust be only those listed in local instructions.Provide On-Call services as required, including returning phone calls within 15 minutes of notification.RequirementsMust have completed a residency training program in Psychiatry and neurology approved by theAccreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training ofthe American Osteopathic AssociationPossess and maintain Board Certification in Psychiatry.Must have a minimum of 1-year full-time experience as a Psychiatrist within the last 3 years.Shall have an active and unrestricted license to practice as a Psychiatrist in ANY of the 50 United States or its territories.Possess and maintain current certification in either the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course.Must be a United States citizen.Final compensation will be based on relevant factors including work experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
