ResponsibilitiesInstall sanitary and stormwater sewer structures, pipe systems, leachate systems, and waterlines made of concrete, ductile iron, PVC, HDPE materials, copper, corrugated metal, and other materials as applicable to the job. Cut pipes to required lengths. Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using fusing equipment, cement, or glue. Cover pipes with earth or other materials. Ability to operate heavy equipment to remove and replace soils and earth. Operate cutting equipment to cut various types of piping materials. Operate small, powered equipment, including tampers. Cut, fit, and seal various types of piping. Ability to communicate effectively with crew members. Ability to think logically about the work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs. Ability to read blueprints and other project-related documents.
