Optician (Temporary)

Gadsden Eye Associates has a 30 year tradition of providing complete surgical and medical eye care services. Our courteous staff is essential to our mission to provide excellent eye care in a compassionate environment.
The Optician must be able to work with our diverse base of customers (i.e. pediatric, adolescent, and adult) by delivering quality optical care and outstanding and friendly customer service establishing customer loyalty. Mount and secure lenses in holding tools or chucks for cutting, polishing, and or grinding
Recommend specific lenses, lens coating, other lens enhancements, and frames to suit patient needs
Set up machines to polish, bevel, edge, or grind lenses -
Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to properly fit
Keeping track of orders, prescriptions, and inventory
Arrange and maintain displays of optical merchandise
Attend training workshops/meetings as scheduled
High School Diploma or Ged required
Minimum Associates or equivalent and on-the-job training or post-secondary education
Strong computer knowledge and skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 AW PM Able to navigate multiple system applications

Prior retail sales or work in the healthcare industry (preferred)
