Join Our Team as a Med-Surg Nurse!
Job Description:

• Shift: 12-Hour Days
• Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW), First to Float
• Unit: Medical-Surgical with 30 Beds
• Experience Required: Minimum 2-3 years in specialty and prior travel experience

- Certifications Needed:

• BLS Certification
• COVID Vaccine Required
• Patient Ratios: 1 to 5

- Nurse Aide Support:

• 2 on days
• 1 on nights

- Floating Requirements:

• May float to Telemetry (1:4 ratio)
• Potential for floating between med-surg floors
• Orientation: Floor-specific for 1 shift on the unit

- Common Diagnoses:

• Medical patients
• Post-operative/surgical patients
• Charge Nurse Duties: Clinical supervisor will provide break relief; no patient assignment.

- Technological Requirements:

• Cerner Charting System
• Must read and interpret telemetry; dysrhythmia exam is required

- Support Staff Availability:

• Hospitalist and Intensivist coverage 24/7
• IV Team and Pharmacy available 24/7
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holiday Shift: Work integrated into permanent staff rotation; holiday RTO considered but not guaranteed
• Cancellation Policy: Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignment; 3 shifts for shorter assignments
