Job Description
We are seeking PRN Pre-Op Registered Nurses (RNs) for upcoming opportunities in the Fort Worth, TX area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive pre-op assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and patient readiness for surgery
Verify surgical and informed consent forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Review patient charts to confirm laboratory results, clearances, and required documentation; report abnormalities to the surgical team
Initiate intravenous (IV) access and administer pre-operative medications as ordered
Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including site preparation and coordination with the surgical team
Provide pre-operative education and instructions to patients and families to reduce anxiety and support optimal outcomes
Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including Universal Protocol and time-out procedures
Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Monitor patient condition prior to surgery and escalate concerns as appropriate

Requirements
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current RN license in the state of Texas
Minimum of 2 years of recent Pre-Op nursing experience required
Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience preferred
Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
