We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our MEP - Prefabrication & Supply Chain Management team in our Washington, DC office. This is a full-time, in-person position.
Participate in the design process and management of complex Mission Critical data center projects, including coordination of teams and deliverables.
Assess risks and roles associated with various project delivery methods.
Interpret and apply principles of contract documents and agreements.
Proactively identify, track, and address design and engineering challenges during design and construction phases.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, with primary experience in electrical and controls; apply National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
Review one-line diagrams, equipment submittals, and other trades' design drawings to ensure integration and coordination.
Demonstrate knowledge of electrical distribution equipment, including low and medium-voltage transformers, switchboards, and switchgear.
Evaluate the constructability of electrical systems, including conduit, cable tray, busway routing, grounding, bonding, and equipment installation.
Conduct cross-discipline drawing coordination and design quality reviews for MEP disciplines.
Provide constructability, technical expertise, and engineering solutions to support design evolution.
Coordinate creation of integrated electrical room concepts and collaborate with subcontractors.
2-5+ years in an engineering position, preferably with experience in Mission Critical data center projects.
