Food Runner – BKK New York BKK New York is looking for an experienced, energetic, and dependable Food Runner to join our front-of-house team.
Schedule
Saturday, Sunday & Monday – Double Shifts Guaranteed
This position is ideal for someone looking for a consistent three-day work schedule with reliable double shifts.
Responsibilities
- Run food from the kitchen to guests quickly, safely, and accurately
- Verify table numbers, seat positions, dishes, and modifications before leaving the kitchen
- Learn the full menu, including ingredients, sauces, garnishes, spice levels, and common allergens
- Properly identify and announce dishes when placing them on the table
- Follow BKK New York’s presentation and service standards
- Communicate closely with chefs, expo, servers, bussers, bartenders, and managers
- Maintain strong communication between the kitchen and front-of-house team
- Monitor the kitchen pass/expo area and ensure completed dishes are delivered immediately
- Prioritize dishes correctly so food reaches guests hot, fresh, and at the proper temperature
- Help coordinate dishes for a table so guests receive their courses together whenever possible
- Confirm special requests and dietary/allergy modifications before delivering food
- Immediately communicate any missing, incorrect, delayed, or damaged dishes
- Assist servers with table maintenance when necessary
- Help clear plates, glassware, and unnecessary items from tables when passing through the dining room
- Reset and prepare tables as needed during busy service
- Refill water and assist guests with reasonable requests when servers are occupied
- Never ignore a guest requesting assistance—communicate the request to the appropriate team member
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo/pass area and service stations
- Restock plates, utensils, napkins, sauces, serving utensils, and other service supplies
- Polish and organize serviceware as required
- Assist with opening and closing side work
- Keep floors and service pathways clear and safe
- Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Handle plates and serving equipment carefully and professionally
- Maintain awareness of guests and staff while moving through a busy dining room
- Support servers and bussers during high-volume periods
- Assist the kitchen and FOH team wherever needed to maintain smooth service
- Maintain a professional, positive, team-oriented attitude throughout the shift
What We’re Looking For
Previous food runner, busser, or restaurant experience is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant, have strong communication skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to carry multiple plates safely.
You should be punctual, dependable, organized, and willing to work as part of a team.
Availability for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday double shifts is required.
