Quality Technician Needed - Chicago Heights, IL

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Lab Tech to join their team. As a Lab Tech, you will be part of the Quality Control department supporting the production teams.
Job Title: Lab Technician
Shift: 1pm-9pm
Rate: $21 per hour
Technicians are directly responsible for ensuring that products meet established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance.
Performs tests at various stages of production process to determine whether material meet prescribed formulas and standards in order to maintain quality and reliability of products.
Draws sample to be tested at specified stages in production process.
Determines conformity to prescribed formulas and standards, and documents deviations.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all quality tests and inspections.
Maintains test equipment.
Identify and troubleshoot quality issues and non-conformances; Collaborate with production teams to implement quality control measures during manufacturing processes.
Participate in the development and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality control.
Provide training and support to other laboratory personnel.
Records test data.
Conduct chemical or physical laboratory tests to assist chemist in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of materials.
Maintain, clean, or sterilize laboratory instruments or equipment.
Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, using techniques such as grinding, cleaning of glasswork, and sample preparation.
Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes, following standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas.
Documenting/Recording Information
Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
High School Diploma required.
An associate's or bachelor's degree is desirable, but not required.
Testing experience, able to come to conclusions, refer complex problems to supervisor.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Ability and willingness to do shift work.
Pass appropriate in-house task test(s).
Environmental Conditions:
~ General working environment for refractory operation (Heat and noise exposure).
